Annual Environmental Awareness Day

Joining forces with our community partners, Tim Hortons (111 Cross Avenue), Kerr Village BIA, M&M Meat Shops (2525 Prince Michael Drive), Fortinos (Oakville) and Shred-It International and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton we present our Annual Environmental Awareness Day each year in July. Local vendors exhibit their environmentally-friendly products and services. In addition,  children's activities, a community clean up and BBQ round out the day.

Volunteers from the community clean up the area around the Tim Hortons at 111 Cross Avenue. A team of volunteers led by Collin Woodcock also clean up along the banks of the Sixteen-Mile creek. Gear for Tech was on hand at our 2011 event to accept items for electronic recycling.  Confidential documents are also accepted for shredding. M & M Meat Shops, along with Fortinos, donate a free BBQ lunch for the volunteers and the Hamilton Tiger-Cat Cheerleaders and DJ Central provide entertainment. The Home Depot children's workshop provided hands-on activities for kids. St. John’s Ambulance is also on hand. Big and little brothers and sisters helped with the community clean up. Proceeds for the event’s raffle raise money for  Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton.

The 3rd Annual Environmental Awareness Day was held on July 9, 2011. $1000 was raised for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton.
