Listed below are the answers to additional questions which came out of the presentation
Question: When and where does the small business apply for the $1,000 support?
Answer: The ministry has stated in one of its releases that small businesses with taxable revenues of less than $2 million dollars, we be eligible for a one time transition support of $1,000. The Ministry does not currently have the available information as to how this credit will be applied for. Further details are to follow as we get nearer to the July 1, 2010.
Question: How is the Point of Sale rebate to be shown. Taxed at 13% and credit for 8% or can it be shown as 5%?
Answer: Although there are no official guidelines in place as yet, the CRA GST/HST rulings dept think the ideal way to do it is to show a charge for the full 13% and then show a deduction for the POS rebate of 8% such that ultimately the purchaser will only pay the 5%.
