Oakville, ON, March 1, 2010 – Accuristix, formerly McKesson Logistics Solutions (MLS), is a leading third-party logistics supplier focused exclusively on providing integrated supply chain services to a broad range of healthcare manufacturers.

Oakville based Ada’s Flowers has secured an exclusive contract to supply all the silk floral displays for the Canadian Pavilion at the 2010 Olympic Games in Whistler, British Columbia.
Due to be shipped the week before the Games open, the displays - all designed by proprietor Suzy Caiger and her team - depict the 13 Canadian provinces and territories and will decorate the entire Pavilion which is open to athletes and visitors: “We worked closely with the Pavilion’s exhibition designers to create a unique and realistic display that reflect the beauty and diversity of each province,” explains Suzy Caiger.
However, identifying and sourcing the flowers ‘of Canada’ was not an easy task as many of them are native only to specific areas of the country: “The Ontario Provincial flower is the Trillium (trillium grandiflorum), a unique three petal white flower that only grows along the floor of our woodlands, but it is not available in a silk flower,” pointed out Suzy, “so the team at Ada’s flowers hand made all the Trillium’s for the show.”
The Trillium was not the only flower hand crafted by Ada’s. The Yukon Territory’s Fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium), a beautiful dark pink flower that earns it’s name because it is one of the first plants to grow after a fire and the Newfoundland Pitcher Plant (Sarracenia purpurea) which fills with water and traps insects are just two species the team had to create in just 2 weeks to meet the tight build deadline.
Whilst none of the Pitcher plants have flies in them, it is the only detail that has been overlooked by Ada’s, as Suzy sums up: “We have done our very best to capture the very essence of each provincial flower, we wanted them to be recognizable and as true to the real thing as possible. We are both honored and proud to have been chosen for the 2010 Games.”

“We are very excited to announce this partnership,” says Jan G. van der Hoop, President of HiringSmart, “because Engagient’s ability to pinpoint where employee productivity challenges exist in each company is remarkable. They show the CEO exactly where every dollar should be spent to get the best ROI on employee engagement.”

Are nearly twice as likely to outperform industry averages on many measures including revenue growth
Produce 32% higher earnings per share and 263% higher compound growth
Are twice as profitable and three times more likely to reach targets as their competitors
Have voluntary turnover rates that are one-half those of average employers
Have employees that give more discretionary effort and are much more likely to seek ways to improve the effectiveness of their work.
Engagient (formerly Peak Performance International) measures engagement across 25 dimensions that identify the issues impacting organizational performance by department, business unit, location, manager and team. These proven drivers of human performance are actually leading indicators of corporate performance.
“Many CEOs have come to realize that the most cost-effective approach to improving business performance lies in their staff”, says Dwight Lacey, a principal in Engagient and leader in the Oakville business community for many years, “and no one knows more about employee performance and productivity than HiringSmart. Our partnership with them was a strategic move to work with the brightest minds in the business of building High Performance Cultures.”
HiringSmart helps organizations improve their results by more effectively aligning their people with their business. Whether it’s about attracting and selecting better talent, or making the most of the talent firms already have… HiringSmart has the tools to help you find and engage the right people. When the right person is in the right job, the stage is set for engagement and sustained, superior performance.
“We help employers see things about their people and their practices they’ve never seen before,” says van der Hoop, “and with this partnership with Engagient, we can actually measure where employees are struggling to be successful, in addition to measuring the impact of placing the right people in the right position.”
“We use the latest research in human performance to provide CEO’s with a roadmap showing how to get immediate results,” says Lyle Benson, founder of Engagient, “so we feel we are a perfect fit with HiringSmart’s best in class workplace employment services.”

SB Partners LLP, a long-established Burlington accounting firm, recently recognized Meghan Bilewitz’s accomplishments by awarding her the SB Partners’ Scholarship.
Ten years ago Meghan hoped that stocking shelves and tending to the cash register at Shoppers Drug Mart would eventually lead to the success that she is experiencing today. Perhaps it was the training of new cashiers back then that gave her a taste of sharing her knowledge with others? It’s something she does frequently today, mentoring younger students at McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business.
A member of the Dean’s Honour List three years running, Meghan’s extraordinary academic record, focusing on accounting, is equalled only by her growing list of awards and scholarships. She will complete her Honours Bachelor of Commerce studies in April of this year.
The $3000 SB Scholarship was presented to the 25 year-old Hamilton resident on Friday, January 8th, 2010 at the SB Partners’ offices. “This is just fantastic,” said Meghan, “It’s so wonderful to have a firm such as SB Partners providing the scholarship”. She added, “There is nothing better than having firms like SB interacting with students. It’s very much appreciated.”
The SB Partners Scholarship was established in 2007 through the generosity of SB Partners LLP, a Burlington accounting firm known for its community spirit, support and involvement. Recipients are honoured for their successful studies in the DeGroote School of Business Commerce Program.
Community Involvement for Playdium has been widespread over the last 13 years. Support of various charitable organizations such as Big Brothers & Big Sister's of Peel, Community Living, Victim services of Peel, Ladies on the Links, & Community Youth Mississauga is just a snap shot of the local organizations we support. It was an honour to win the Sam McCallion award & we will continue to assist the community in any way that we can.
